You should not have to do anything with those last rests in the measure. (You could always use the same method I demonstrated above to create a short measure.)Ģ. No, Finale has no way of knowing in the last measure if the first measure was a pickup measure. The barlines are there by default, but you can always add them, if they are missing, with the measure tool.ġ.

FINALE PRINTMUSIC 2014 WIDEN STAFF FULL
Tobias Giesen's plugins, full version, Robert Patterson plugins, Dolet 6 plugin As discussed on another thread, I would definitely beam to the time signature. For this you can use the Split Measure plugin which will do all the work for you. In your example, there's no reason you couldn't put the two eighths at the end of the first system into the 2nd system, as well as the last two eighths of the 3rd system into the 4th system. This can work if the music can be accommodated without too much squashing or expanding. It sounds as though you're notating something like a hymn with a setting of a poem, and that you want to keep each line of text on its own system. But is it not because it's a bit difficult to achieve? Does it have any advantage for choral singers to split such a measure this way? Or should I just leave measures alone and therefore have first two syllables of the next line in stanza together with the current line? This way the notation follows the flow of syllables in lines in stanzas.Īs I believe this is not a very usual approach for notation. Two beats in the same staff and the third beat in the next. And for each last measure in the staff stands the same: it's divided in two parts. So, the last measure in the first staff is divided - it's got only two beats and the third beat is in the second staff. It's probably better I add a picture (better than 1000 words :) Post Edited (Ron.) : 11:42:06 AM (GMT-6)īut it seems my presentation of my problem was bad.
FINALE PRINTMUSIC 2014 WIDEN STAFF WINDOWS 7
Windows 7 Home Edition, AMD FX-8100 8-Core Processor, 10 GB RAM The rest of the staffs would have normal rests before the first note.įinale 2014 with Garritan Personal Orchestra 4.0. If I understand you correctly, only the first staff should have a pickup measure. I'd like to hear pros and cons - I don't have much experience. Should I make a horizontal split of each staff and move pickup measure of the next line in stanza in the next staff? It's got pickup measure and each of intended four staves (if I make nice four measures per staff) has it's it's own pickup measure because of the rhythm in the lyrics.
